Gimme that
I’m Jessie.
I'm a discerning foodie, forever Francophile, audiobook junkie, and lover of travel. Life should feel a little... extra, don't you think? There's always room for another glass around here. Cheers, babe!

First of all, I come from a family of pancake booties, so I was not blessed with those assets. A fat-bottomed girl I am not.  I had to get that out there at least once. But, I know my body and I know what healthy looks like for said bootie, even if it never looks like the almighty peach emoji. Top of the list includes not eating triggering foods (dairy, for starters), and a very close second: working out.

It’s a new year so this is secretly at the top of 50% of people’s list and for the bravely open about it, another 25% for resolutions. I will be among the open, not because I’m brave, just simply for accountability. Those numbers are guesses but this is a blog, not a scientific article; so whatever.

I like to workout… once I’m there. But I like sleep better, and it is very tough to get me out of bed in the morning. Conversely, at the end of the day, I don’t want to do anything. I just want to eat, turn my brain off, and sleep. So, that’s what I usually do, because as an adult, you can.

Then again, as an adult, you can also eat cookie dough for dinner but it doesn’t mean you should. My body genuinely sings when I workout. It’s like it wakes up from a fog so I know that this is how I need to treat my cells. At the very least my body deserves it for taking care of me alllll these years.

Therefore, my first resolution is to workout regularly, which to me means 3-4 times a week. My yoga studio is doing a 30-day challenge with one workout every day but I don’t know if I’ll be able to make it happen. Logistically, work and life can get in the way, but I’m going to try. I’m 1/1 so far and that’s 100%!!!! Just kidding, I know that isn’t how it works, but I’ll check in on different things I notice over the next couple of weeks, and hopefully, by the end of it all I’ve formed a nice little fat bottomed bootie, a new habit, and this can just be who I am: a lady who actually works out regularly and feels great. Currently, I’m just a gal who worked out twice, still can’t fit into her pants, and is quite sore, but you’ve got to start somewhere!

Current song on repeat: “Worship Me”, Lizzo
